A: It will take me a little longer to break it down by rank. However, the ethnic break-down of all sworn in the
agency is as follows:

2. The name of the Latino liaison for your agency?
A: Mr. Joseph Cohen-Ortiz
3. How many Latino events did your agency attend in 2006, including the names of the events?
A: Our Latino liaison, Mr. Joseph Cohen-Ortiz, attended three child passenger safety events that were
conducted in Spanish. Additionally, he is a bilingual child passenger safety instructor, sits on the Volusia
County School District’s Latino Advisory Committee and, as a Sheriff’s Office representative, also regularly
attends meetings of the Hispanic Association and Fernworkers Association.
4. Does your agency have Spanish-speaking emergency operators?
A: Yes
5. Is your agency’s web site offered in Spanish?
A: Yes
6. What was your agency’s budget for 2006?
A: The adopted budget for FY 2006-07 was $65,690,552
7. How many Latinos did your agency hire in 2006?
A: 5 sworn
8. How many Latinos did your agency promote in 2006?
