It is the pleasure of the Latino Officers Association Florida to make contact with your office. We
know the importance
of your duties in representing the community.

The Latino Officers Association Florida is a non-profit 501 c 4 organization made up of law
enforcement officers from
around the state. The LOA-FLA was charted in 2002 under the direction of the National Latino
Officers Association of
America. One of our primary objectives is to ensure equal representation in hiring, promotional
practices and fair
treatment of the Latino Community.

It is this reason we respectfully request guidance in obtain under public law F/S 119 the following
records:
1.        Census information with regards to Latinos for each rank, which are the following Officer,
Corporal, Sergeant,
Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Deputy Chief,  & Chief within the ......... County ...Dept .
2.        The name of the Hispanic liaison Officer assigned to this agency.   
3.        Whether your agency have Spanish speaking information operators?
4.        Whether your agency issue victim brochure in Spanish?
5.        Whether your agency provide Spanish translation on your web-site?   

As we are all aware the Latino community in .......County was at .% at the 2000 U.S. Census. Today
this figurer is
much larger, thus making this request paramount.

LOA-FLA rating score system was created in 2005 to give the Latino community a clear pitcher on how their taxes
dollars are being represented with regard to Law Enforcement agencies in Florida.

3. 9-11 Spanish speaking operators

4. Victim brochure in Spanish

5. Spanish translation within the agency web-site  


Scoring system

A. Excels all levels

B. Above levels with focus on future

C. Needs improvements not making effort just making the motions.  

D. Poor, Latino community vastly effected by departments lack of service.

F. Grossly under representing the Latino community. The Dept makes no effort or has no fear of Latino community.
