LOA-FLA Score (c ) Needs improvements not making effort just making the motions.
Effort by Orange County Sheriffs July 2005: census report for 2000 18.8% Latino.
The Sheriff did not even attempt to issue us the census information requested. We guess their are
no Blacks, White working in the Orange County Sheriff Office. With a growing population of Latinos in
Orange we feel they can do better. Latino liaisons are all top ranking. OCSO rating will improve with
Sheriff Beary efforts on hiring more Latinos.

2005. I will
answer each question individually below:

Census Information regarding Latinos for each rank, which are the following Deputy, (road and
detention)
Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Lt. Colonel, and Colonel within the Orange County
Sheriff's
Office (OCSO).
Answer #1
OCSO does not have Detention Deputies the jails are handled by Orange County Government.
OCSO does not
have the title of Major, Lt. Colonel, and/ or Colonel. I have attached a copy of a report that includes all
Hispanic employees by rank within OCSO.
Question #2
The name of the Hispanic Liaison Officer's assigned to our agency.

Captain Angelo Nieves, Captain Miguel Pagan, Commander Raul Gonzalez, and Corporal Carlos
Torres.
Question # 3
Does our agency have Spanish Speaking 911 Operators?
Answer # 3
Yes
Question # 4
Does our agency issues victim brochures in Spanish?
Answer # 4
Yes
Question # 5
Does our agency provide Spanish translation on the website?
Answer # 5
Not at this time however our agency is re-designing our website with this
in mind.
