The Latino Officers Association Florida is outraged of the lack of public safety issued
by Miami Dade Corrections. Within the county web site Miami Dade Corrections is
listed as a public Safety agency

During the Alpha / Bravo bill FEMA tours, countless officers spend hours working
units, floors and areas for no reason since the integrity of the institution is not
compromised.
Our position is not to argue with the authorities that have made this decision but the
lake of public safety and integrity.
While residences have a real fear, Miami Dade Corrections has countless officers
sitting around and driving around Miami looking for gas.
The primary responsibility of government is to protect their citizens; Miami Dade has
failed in the objective.
They will make an argument that we are wrong but the truth will be shown.
Officers with no radios
Officers with no firearms working outside details
Officers driving around Miami for hours looking for gas
Officers shopping
Officers with radios that speak to no one.
Officers missing from their assigned area for hours and nothing is said.
How easy would have it been to have only minimum staffing at the jails and the rest
working in a public service / safety role. Once again the truth will show the wrong.
Any and all protections granted under the whistle blower act for Miami Dade County,
State of Florida and Federal is demanded.
