July 08, 2005:
Latino Officers Association Texas is charted: The San Antonio Metro Chapter of the THPOA has
decided to join the National Latino Officers Association(NLOA) to help form the Texas Chapter
within the NLOA. The San Antonio Metro Chapter will remain with the THPOA as well and will
continue to be an active organization within the THPOA. The alliance between the San
Antonio Metro Chapter and the National Latino Officers Association will enable both
organizations to assist each other on the mission and goals of each respective Association at a
local and National level.

February 16, 2005: an Official School Dedication Ceremony Honoring
New York City Police Officer Ramon Suarez District 4, a victim of the September 11, 2001
WTC attack. Ramon was an active member and Delegate of the NLOA-NYPD Chapter .
The school that was named after Ramon Suarez (PS 239Q) which is located at 1715
Weirfield St. Ridgewood, NY,11385 within the confines of the 104 Precinct. This is the
school that Ramon’s daughter (Jillian) attended. We salute Ramon and his family.

The National Latino Officers Association announces today the terms of the
settlement of its pending lawsuit against the New York Police Department
("NYPD") and the City of New York, charging discrimination against Latino and
African-American police officers. The settlement includes $26.8 million to pay
claims of discrimination by eligible class members and to administer a claims
processing procedure. read more
