President message
Recently we had our LOA-FLA executive board meeting and luncheon. I want to the Mr. Jay Love for
providing us with both the meeting space and the luncheon. During the Luncheon the LOA-FLA presented
Mr. Love with a certificate of membership.

During the meeting we accomplished many motions to help us continue moving forward and gain the tools
for growth. As I stated in the meeting “the LOA is only as strong as it’s region, chapter and membership”.
It’s important for each one of us not only seek growth in members but sponsorships and opportunity.

A brief description of each region report was continued growth, application of new and bold ideas and
sponsorship. During our meeting we also set the groundwork for up coming possible litigation. With the
guidance of Nelson Delgado and the National we will be ready.

Our next meeting for the executive board will be held October 15, 2005 in Tampa, Fl. At this meeting we
will present the 2005 Roman Suarez award. This award is bestowed to any Florida law enforcement
member hurt or killed in the line of duty. These actions demonstrate bravery, heroism, and integrity,
and embrace the core values of our organizational mission.

Officer Suarez was killed in the September 11, 2001; terrorist attacks while attempting to rescue the victims
trapped in the World Trade Center. Officer Suarez was last seen re-entering the North Tower after he and
another officer rescued a woman who couldn't walk. He was killed when the North Tower collapsed.

Hope to see you in Tampa 10/15/2005

Respectfully,

Alexander Martinez
President
