The Latino Officers Association Florida, a sovereign organization under Florida law and has no affiliation with a group called Orlando COPWATCH. The LOA-FLA is firmly against all types of police abuse and encourages Citizens to file a formal complaint with that agency and or the                               Florida Department of Law Enforcement              if they feel their rights have been violated.

LOA-FLA Retired Council Director Joe Sanchez at his recent book signing in New York City. The LOA-FLA continues to be very proud of Joe. 

 

The L.O.A Florida was charted by a group of officers from Miami-Dade County.  The LOA-FLA is registered in Florida as (not for profit) 501c4. The LOA-FLA was filed on August 19, 2002 in Florida under document number  N02000006250.

The LOA-FLA is a completely sovereign organization pursuant to Florida law.  

Mission Statement:  

Trusting in God.

To promote tolerance towards the understanding of the Latino culture in the Law Enforcement community and to create a strong bond between Latino community and Police departments. It also aggressively seeks to increase the number of Latino Officers in Florida.

As an organization our goal is to ensure equal representation in hiring and promotional practices.
We also strive to ensure that members work in an environment that is in compliance with all equal employment opportunity rules and regulations; an environment free of discrimination, hostility,retaliation, and sexual harassment.

The LOA-FLA represents members, both uniform and civilian, that are employed by law enforcement agencies on the city, state, county and federal level. The LOA-FLA also represents non-law enforcement personal employed in both the private and public sectors.

There are no ethnic requirements for membership to the LOA-FLA chapters
.
However, members must embrace the organization’s vision and be supportive of its goals.
