Chapters & Regions

The Latino Officers Association Florida has three (3) regions, six (9) chapters and one objective to better serve the membership. The following is a listing of each sector and the area they cover.

 

Gulf Regional Director:Orlando Torres (former Dep Hendry Sheriffs Office): 

Serving the Gulf coast counties of Florida from Collier to Citrus Counties the area is among one of the biggest in Florida. Regional Director Orlando Toress is a veteran of the LOA-FLA and a former Deputy for Hendry County Sheriff's Office. The region is rich with Business support for the LOA-FLA. The region is the fastest growing area in Florida

  

 

South
Regional Director:

Sgt Al Rodriguez (Broward Sheriff's Office): Serving the South Florida area, counties from Martin to Monroe Counties this sector is rich with Latino membership. Al Rodriguez is a 20-year veteran of law enforcement with outstanding credentials. The South region is known as the base of the LOA-FLA. This region is home to the founding charter from Miami Dade.   

 

 

 

 

 

 

  

Central
Regional Director: Chairman: Cpl Jose Irizarry Serving the Center and northern part of the State this is the biggest region for the LOA-FLA. Jose Irizarry is currently a Supervisor in Mount Dora Police Dept. This region is rich with our Political commitments to better serve the membership and the Latino Community. I am proud to be a member of the LOA family where I can promote Latino growth, tolerance, acceptance and recruitment in the Florida Criminal Justice Community.
 Began my law enforcement career by enrolling in the part-time police academy at Daytona Beach Community College in March of 1999 and earned my Associate in Arts the same year while at the academy. In April of 2000  was hired as a patrol officer for the city of Mount Dora Police Department and earned a promotion to the rank of corporal in 2005. Having a bachelors degree (BA) in Criminal Justice Administration and currently enrolled as a graduate student at California University of PA to earn a masters degree (MS) in Legal Studies with a minor in Homeland Security.
Thirty-one (31) years old and currently married to a supportive New Yorican wife and a  five-year old daughter. I am also the son of Iraq combat veteran Dr. Jose Irizarry II.

Chapters & BOD


Miami Dade Chapter: Cpl Nelson Delgado County / Det Raul Fernandez Muncipalty /          At Large Member Ofc. Vidal Perez: This Charter has the distention of being the founder of the Latino Officers Association Florida. The Association emerged from a group of Officers from Miami Dade in August 2002. Today this chapter is the largest in the LOA-FLA.   

 

   

Tampa Bay:  Vacant  (HCSO) Tampa. The Tampa Bay region is rich with Florida history. This district is the home of the Tampa Bay Charter.


Greater Orlando:  Ofc. Norberto Gonzalez (Mount Dora Police)  This Florida region is rich with young Latino Officers. Under the leadership of Norberto Gonzalez, a young powerful influential Latino, this district has a bright future.   

 

 

 

  

 

 

 

 

 

Southwest:
Det. Manny Ynestroza (Naples Retired) The fastest growing area in Florida, this district under the leadership of retired Naples and Miami Officer Manny Ynestroza has a solid future.  


 

Palm Beach: Sgt. Wilson Santiago (P.B. Sheriffs Office)
One of the riches and influential areas in Florida. Wilson Santiago serves as a powerful supervisor not only in his agency but also in this LOA-FLA district.

Broward:  Vacant: One of the toughest places in Florida, this district is served by growing list of hard nose guys that talks the talk and walks the walk. Broward is the sleeping giant in the LOA-FLA.

Lee: Lt. Robert Forrest : Lee County Sheriff's Office. The fastest growing Latino area in Florida, this district is served by Lt. Robert Forrest a 25 year vet of the LCSO.



St. Lucie: Wagner Leite: (St Lucie Police Dept ) the newest area of LOA-FLA expansion. Wagner Leitie is a 20 year vet of Law Enforcement which is overseeing our growth in the area.
 
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 

                  

 

 

 

 

   

 

Hendry: C/O Claudia Gonzalez Florida Dept of Corrections: Hendry County has been a chapter in the LOA-FLA since 2006. A battle ground for the LOA-FLA, we are committed to grow the chapter in Hendry.
