Thank you for your recent letter regarding Hispanic representation within the ranks of the Florida
Highway
Patrol.

The Florida Highway Patrol is a nationally accredited law enforcement agency.  We are extremely proud
to
provide the citizens and visitors of Florida with a professional, well-trained, and diversified work force.
All
members of our agency are encouraged to seek advancement within the ranks of the Patrol.

Presently, the Florida Highway Patrol employs 1, 856 dedicated men and women of which 216
individuals
represent the Hispanic community.  This represents 12 percent of the sworn work force of the Patrol.
Florida’s
Relevant Labor Market is currently 13 percent Hispanic. Pursuant to your request, we are providing
you with a
break down of Hispanic members within each of our sworn ranks.

The Citizen Victim Brochures distributed by the Florida Highway Patrol are printed in both English and
Spanish. We maintain provisions for Spanish translation for email's directed to our website and the

contains an icon for Espanol.
